What is prescription verification?

Contacts America is required by Federal Law to verify prescriptions for contact lenses before we ship any lenses.

There are two ways for us to verify your prescription:

  • You can fax us a copy of your prescription – we check it against your order and if everything is in order we begin to process your order for shipment.
  • You can provide us with the name and phone / fax number of your eye care provider. We contact them on your behalf and verify that the lenses you have ordered match your prescription. During this time your order has a status of RXFaxed. If your eye care provider fails to respond within 8 hours of our request for verification then we will assume that your prescription is valid and your order will be processed and shipped as ordered.

Remember ... Federal Law requires your eye care practioner to provide a copy of your prescription upon request.
